Antivirus Protector

I guess Id still been in the mindset that viruses are a rare and unlikely phenomenon that only really unlucky people get afflicted with. Sort of like a digital version of Ebola. Sure, Ebola is scary as all heck, but come on. How many people get Ebola every year? What, like five? I remember when viruses first began appearing in the media, some ten or fifteen years ago. Everyone was scared of them but no one actually got one.

Well, apparently viruses have advanced as much as computers have over the years, and youre now taking a big risk if you dont have anti virus protection. Fortunately, there are a number of different programs that serve as effective anti virus protection today. My neighbor/computer repair friend signed me up with McAfee, and Ive been using them ever since. They are probably the largest and most recognizeable company devoted to anti virus protection software, but there are plenty of other big names as well, such as Symantecs Norton Antivirus program.

Ive been perfectly happy using McAfees anti virus protection, and havent had any viruses since I installed it. A lot of computers will come with some form of anti virus protection already installed on it, and all youll have to do is register for continued protection.

Fortunately in recent years, anti virus protection has extended to the more commonly used email servers as well. Most of the free email accounts, such as Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, or Gmail, will scan any incoming emails and attachments for viruses. Still, its a good idea to be wary of emails from people you dont recognize. I usually dont even open them and delete them right away.

If youre careful and update your anti virus protection regularly, youll probably be just fine.

How did we ever survive without our computers. It’s almost inconceivable to think that we didn’t hardly need these daily helpers in our homes a decade ago. Like coffee, computers seem to be one of those things that you can’t live without once you’ve tried them. Our PCs and Macs aid us on an incomparable level these days, and we certainly don’t want to return to the old ways. While these phenomenal machines continuously provide us with access to the world, we have to keep a close eye on them to ensure their safety. After all, computer viruses are always updating like our handy machines.

Now days it is always wise to do an anti virus check on your computer regularly. Those nasty little bugs will crawl into your hard drive and take up residence with no plans of leaving. They will destroy your system from the inside out. Fortunately we don’t have to allow this. There are a number of software options at you disposal in order to do an anti virus check. This way you can scan your computer completely for any unwanted predators. The anti virus check will not only locate the viruses, but also contain them so you can further delete them from existence. If you’ve never had a virus in your computer, consider yourself lucky, because it can ruin everything.

I first delved into the world of anti virus software when my PC went on the fritz a few years back. I couldn’t understand what the darn thing was doing. It was virtually nonfunctional in every way. It drove me insane. All I needed was to complete a mid-term, but the computer wouldn’t allow it. After going berserk, I call my brother who is a computer technician. He smirked and told me that I probably had a virus. He asked if I had tried an anti virus check. Before I new it, he had located the virus and was trying to contain it. This will basically keep it separate from your computer, then hopefully it can be completely removed.

Computer viruses are all over the place. Probably the most likely source of infection is your own email. You always have to be careful what you open. It could be a virus. Luckily many of our email service providers have a standard anti virus check as part of there program. This way the email will be scanned before you open any downloads. If you think your computer may be infected with a virus, check and see if you already have anti virus software installed. If you do, run a standard anti virus check. You can set these to run as often as you like. This way you ensure your computer of avoiding all viruses.

Question by jran: How do you scan a computer from another one using an antivirus software?
I read that if your computer is already infected, antivirus software in your own comp might be bypassed already and will miss it, so you have to scan from another computer.

Question by Cedric James: Is it better to defrag my computer using the default disk defragmenter, or the defrag on my antivirus software?
Should I use the ‘Disk Defragmenter’ that comes with Windows to defrag my computer, or use the defragmenter that comes with my antivirus software. Which is better? Thanks for the help!

I am trying to delete the annoying Mcafee Antivirus software off my computer. There is a security center and also a firewall. I went to add remove programs, and tried to delete security center and it keeps saying I have to delete THE LEGACY PROGRAM FIRST. Any suggestions why it wont let me delete it?

My computer is so fucked up I can only log on in safe mode. There is so much I cant do. Someone said its viruses but, I can’t use the internet how do I get antivirus software from one computer to another.

just use safe mode with networking and then see you can use internet on your pc as networking is needed
you can also use pendrive or external hard drive

i reccomend to format your pc as a good antivirus cannot remove all the viruses
just reinstall the os

Question by Lepke: Any good antivirus software that doesn’t chew up tons of memory and slows computer down to a crawl?
I have Norton 360 currently and I’ve been having lots of problems with it. One of the greatest memory using processes is ccSvcHst.exe which belongs to Symantec (Norton’s company). I am so sick and tired of my computer slowing down to a crawl. Can anyone recommend a GOOD antivirus software package that doesn’t have this problem?
I don’t know if this would make a difference but I have Windows XP running on my computer.
